MEMORIAL GRAVES IN CRYSTAL

In 2008, Målerås Glasbruk created its first ash memorial garden. It was a request from the Church of Sweden in Malmö and the ash memorial garden was to be located at Limhamn cemetery. The ash memorial garden is round and contains 360 crystal blocks that over time have been blasted and painted with names and years. The ash memorial garden has integrated LED lighting that contributes to the beautiful decoration also in the evening.

The crystal block MEMORIA serves as a building block, allowing the size of the ash memorial garden to be adjusted as required. There are smaller ash memorial gardens in Ljungby (8-sided with space for 144 crystal blocks/names) and Kristianstad (12-sided with space for 192 crystal blocks/names).

In 2011 we received a new assignment from the Church of Sweden in Malmö. A new and bigger ash memorial garden based on the MEMORIA block was to be erected at Limhamn cemetery. The ash memorial garden is a 9 m long double-sided crystal wall with space for 1500 MEMORIA blocks. The clear MEMORIA blocks are used just as before for names and years. A variant of this ash memorial garden can be found in Trondheim.

The ash memorial garden has integrated LED lighting that contributes to the beautiful decoration also in the evening.

In 2020, we carried out a new project together with the Church of Sweden in Malmö. A new crystal block, REQUIEM, was produced that mounts on a wall. The crystal blocks are screwed to the wall one by one, which simplifies handling when a name is to be added to a block. The ash memorial garden has integrated LED lighting that contributes to the beautiful decoration also in the evening.

FLORA, a flower over 4 m tall in stainless steel and crystal designed by Mats Jonasson, can be found in the memorial garden at Husie cemetery. FLORA is also a popular decoration for parks and public places. The flower below is situated in aroundabout in Nybro. Each flower is unique and is given its own touch!
