GUNILLA VON WERDER

Gunilla von Werder, a resident of the South Swedish city of Höganäs, is a maskmaker. She designs masks using an original technique developed in the 16th century, which she has refined over the years. Gunilla is educated in the fields of art and design in Florence, Italy. In 2023, at the Stockholm Culture Awards, she received a medal of honour in recognition of her artistry, and for carrying the craft­ forward. At Målerås Glasbruk, Gunilla’s masks are now taking on a new form of expression in crystal.
