Markus Emilsson

Markus Emilsson’s work is shaped by his art school background and several years of training as a glassblower. A few years ago, he left the big-city life in Stockholm behind and settled in Småland, and the move from city to forest has inspired him in his designs.

With its abstract idiom, at once both grandiloquent and restrained, Markus Emilsson gives the transformative qualities of the glass space, creating objects that feel classic and modern at the same time. 

“I see glass as an aesthetic and narrative means of expression, but also as a learning experience with opportunities to create relationships and open up dialogue. The encounter with the public and what happens in that moment is something that really interests me,” says Markus Emilsson.
